Nick Pocock and Joe Stahl receive the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award.
This aviation safety award was presented to Nick and Joe on July 8th, 2004, at a special meeting of the Waco Aviation Safety group held at a luncheon at Uncle Dan’s restaurant.
A large group of aviation enthusiasts attended the ceremony in their honor. The Wright Brothers Master pilot award recognizes pilots who have contributed to building and maintaining the safest aviation history in the world, through practicing and promoting safe flight for a total of 50 years or more.
Joe Nemmer and Jim Garner gave a brief and interesting run down of the accomplishments of these two pilots from Military Glider pilot to Flight instruction and World Acrobatic contestant. Both pilots are staunch EAA supporters and members of Chapter 59.
The award was presented by Steven Buckner, FAA Safety Program Manager from Fort Worth Flight Standards District office and Otis Key, District Manager.
